You need to cut the vent hole before attaching the canopy as you need to get your hand through it to unlatch the canopy after the sika has cured. Otherwise you will have a permanently closed canopy! The position of the vent must not interfere with the latch mechanism. Best position seems to be 30mm ahead of the latch pivot and 110mm above the top of the canopy frame edge.During bonding the masking tape works quite well. The joining strip I made by laying up 5 layers of 280gsm on a flat surface. 75mm width works well.
