Cowling - trial fit

Here is a pic showing the cowling approximately in position. The rear edge of the cowling is puposely not trimmed at the factory to allow some latitude for builders installing various engines. At this point you need to know exactly what prop and spinner will be installed. Using drawings (or the real thing preferably) make sure that the gap between the cowl and spinner is correct. About 5mm is ideal. Remember that some spinners (including the standard whisper spinner) have a rear facing flange. This means that the front of the cowl needs to be about 30mm aft of the front face of the prop flange.
