Exhaust system

Last night I tacked together the exhaust system. I bought 3m of 32mm OD by 1.6mm wall 304 stainless tubing and 2 rotax "doughnuts". The latter I cut into eight 90 degree bends. I also needed two additional bends of about 45 degrees. These can be cut from "dairy" bends available at most stainless steel suppliers. They are not as tight a radius as the doughnuts but ok for the gradual bend near the rear tappet covers. Once the whole exhaust is tacked together I will remove it and have it welded by an aircraft coded welder. This is one of those jobs that one tends to put off because it seems complicated and you hope some "expert" will walk through the door and do it for you in a flash...well that does'nt happen! There is only one way to do it and that is to do it! A hacksaw, small angle grinder with 1mm thick blade and a felt tipped pen can perform miracles in one evening...!! Go for it!

I located 1.25" 90 degree "dairy" bends that are just as tight a radius as the rotax doughnuts - also a lot cheaper! I will use these in future
