Stab and elevators - glassing the troughs

This is quite a fiddly job and you need to have at least 3hrs of uninterrupted time available before you start. The glass strips are cut at 45 degrees to the roll as shown. The 5 extra layers (180mm long) at the hinge points are easier to lay up on a piece of plastic on the table and then to slip into position. I also applied a micro slurry to the foam first. This prevents large amounts of resin being drawn into the foam and also reduces the chances of getting bubbles under the glass. Don't "over do" the resin and create puddles, this is unnecessary weight. Total time for this job including cutting the glass was 3hrs.
