Actually taking the grinder and making this cut is a scary moment. "Measure twice cut once" springs to mind. I measured 10 times I think!
I used a string stretched tight from tip to tip of the stab. I moved it till I had 210mm width at the elvator root and equal elevator tip chords. I marked the position of the string on the elevator and transferred this line to the bottom of the elevator as well. Ensure that the line underneath is exactly below the one on top. To achieve this it is easiest to make accurate measurements from the trailing edge forward on the surface of the elevator. The final task for the night was gouging out the foam and sanding smooth the troughs in the front of the elevators and the back of the stab. Total time taken for all of this was around 2 hrs.
